Bio

Hello, my name is Erika, and I am thrilled to be a transfer student. This fall will be my first semester as a full-time student with distance education classes. I have two Associate degrees which are in: Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy and Liberal Arts. These degrees are an excellent foundation for better things to come along the way. There were other possible majors but decided to pursue Health Studies because it is an interesting topic. I also thought that a BS in Respiratory Care was redundant. Having an adverse portfolio is essential in today’s job market as well. My goal is to graduate by 2015 and eventually earn a Master of Science in Anesthesia. There is always room for growth and improvement, and look forward to learning something new in this course.
As a Houstonian, I am able to experience the diversity the city has to offer. My favorite color is all colors! I also have a Yorkshire terrier named Ace, and he is a handful. He has so much energy for a five-year-old dog and still acts like a puppy. I am usually busy with school and work. When there is free time, it is spent as quality time with family and traveling. My last trip was visiting Puebla, Mexico, but looking forward to the see Chichen Itza in Yucatan, Mexico. I have been on a rut with my eating habits and workouts. I hope to get back in track by at least committing three days of strength training and meal prepping. If anyone is interested in fitness, there is an app called Body Space that gives a structured workout program for free! Good luck and warm regards!

  1. Hey Erika,
I too also believe that you have to be very diverse nowadays when it comes to the current job market. The competition has increased within the job market. As for your puppy I really have been wanting a French Bulldog that I shall name Reggie this is a preview.

    1. Hi Ambria,
I was disciplined with working-out but I got sick! I hope to get back on track with that. I majored in Health Studies because it’s interesting. Thank you for your wishful thinking and I hope you semester goes well too.

  4. Hi Erika,
I hope you are enjoying your first semester as a full time student in TWU so far. I am very impressed with your associate degrees. Respiratory therapy seems a good career option. I have plan to apply for the master of Occupational therapy in TWU and I am sure I will love it. I downloaded Body Space app and I really want to try those structured workouts. I took Health and Wellness in summer and the project we had in that course, helped me to get in the habit of walking and exercising but this app would help me too. I do not have that much of free time either. Like you, I am so busy with school and work but in my free time, I prefer to spend time with my family.
Good luck in this semester Erika.
